1. Introduction

Hello Digital, Ltd. Co., doing business as TradeSnap ("TradeSnap," "we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform at tradesnap.io and app.tradesnap.io.

By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register
  • Subscription information: Billing details processed through Stripe (we do not store full payment card data)
  • Trade journal data: Trade records, notes, broker CSV imports, and related annotations you enter
  • AI Coach conversations: Messages you send to and receive from the AI Coach feature
  • Support communications: Messages you send to [email protected]
  • Preferences and settings: Alert configurations, notification preferences, watchlist, timezone

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, alert interactions, and session duration
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device type
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs
  • Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to deliver push notifications (stored securely, not shared)
  • Analytics events: Feature usage events collected via PostHog analytics (see Section 5)

Information from third parties

  • Market data: We receive market data from third-party data providers to power the Platform. This data relates to securities, not to you personally.
  • Payment data: Stripe provides us with limited transaction metadata (subscription status, plan type, last 4 digits of card) necessary to manage your subscription.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its features
  • Process payments and manage your subscription
  • Send you alerts, notifications, and digest emails you have subscribed to
  • Power the AI Coach feature using your trade history as context
  • Respond to your support requests and communications
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the Platform
  • Send you important account and service-related communications
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and protect against fraud or abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for algorithmic trading or share it with any financial institutions.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform, including Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics), SendGrid (email delivery), and our cloud hosting provider (DigitalOcean). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, prevent fraud, or protect the safety of any person.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email of any such change.
  • With your consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.

5. Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog, an analytics platform, to understand how users interact with the Platform. PostHog collects usage events (such as which features are used and how often) associated with your account. This data is used solely to improve the Platform.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active and for up to 2 years after deletion upon request
  • Trade journal data: Retained until you delete it or request account deletion
  • AI Coach conversations: Retained for up to 12 months or until you clear your conversation history
  • Usage logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes
  • Billing records: Retained for 7 years as required for financial and tax compliance

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission via HTTPS/TLS
  • Encrypted database connections with SSL certificates
  • Hashed and salted passwords (we never store plaintext passwords)
  • JWT-based authentication with token expiration
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: You may update your account information at any time through the Settings page
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting [email protected]. Note that we may retain certain data as required by law.
  • Portability: You may request an export of your trade journal data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of marketing: You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
  • Notification preferences: You may manage push notification and digest email preferences in the Settings page

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • Right to Know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months
  • Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
  • Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal information. You therefore have no need to opt-out of the sale of personal information.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights

10. GDPR and International Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, you have additional rights including the right to object to processing, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

  • Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the Service under our agreement with you
  • Legitimate interests: Analytics and security monitoring to improve and protect the Platform
  • Legal obligation: Compliance with applicable laws
  • Consent: Where you have given us explicit consent (e.g., marketing emails)

Your data is stored and processed in the United States. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country.

11. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your session and authentication state. We also use PostHog analytics cookies to understand Platform usage.

You can control cookie preferences through the cookie consent banner on our marketing site. Note that disabling non-essential cookies will not affect the functionality of the Platform itself.

12. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. 13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
